Benton County, Oregon, selects Ascend™ Property Assessment and Tax Administration Software
Bellevue, WA - November 9, 2000- ASIX, Inc. announced today that it has reached final agreement with Benton County, Oregon to implement Ascend™ as a replacement for the County's aging Assessment & Taxation System. The project will also incorporate ProVal Corporation's CAMA system using a shared and integrated database, giving Benton a modern, state-of-the-art A & T system that will serve the County for years to come. Benton now joins Lane and Clackamas counties as jurisdictions that have found Ascend™ and ProVal to be the most comprehensive solution available for Assessors and Treasurer/Tax Collectors in the state of Oregon.According to Pam Grant, Benton County Assessor, "It was time to retire our old A & T system. It served us well, but is based on old technology and has become inflexible and costly to maintain in an era of rapidly changing property tax requirements in the State. We needed a software application that could meet the unique requirements facing Oregon counties. With successful implementations in both Lane and Clackamas counties, ASIX has proven that Ascend™ and ProVal are the right products for our County," said Grant.
Ascend™ will improve the automated processing for valuation notices, the levy process, exemption processing, property tax calculation, as well as bill preparation, payment processing, and cash management. It will streamline the workflow in both the Assessor and Tax Collector's offices and will ultimately interface with the County's financial management system.
