April, 2001Clark County, Nevada, selects Ascend™Bellevue, WA - April, 2001, ASIX, Inc., a Northwest-based software vendor and information technology consulting firm, is pleased to announce that Clark County, Nevada, has contracted with ASIX to implement Ascend™ in the office of the County Treasurer. With over 4,000 new residents each month, Clark County (Las Vegas) has become one of the fastest growing local jurisdictions in the nation. Essential services are now provided to more than 1.3 million people, making the accurate and timely receipt and distribution of tax revenues critical to the operation of the County and the well being of its citizenry. Laura Fitzpatrick, Clark County Treasurer, commented, "Our current business processes are driven, to a large degree, by obsolete technology that no longer meets the requirements of the County. We evaluated the offerings of numerous software companies and found only three that were comprehensive enough to warrant an extensive critical analysis. We were convinced that the ASIX Ascend™ product best met our overall requirements." "We now process over 1 billion dollars of tax revenues annually", added Gregg Carlson, Clark County Assistant Treasurer. "The magnitude of our collection and distribution process as well as the visibility of our County mandated that we meticulously select a software vendor/partner in which we could have absolute confidence. The ASIX track record of successful implementations, their technology and product vision, as well as our need for an exceedingly functional application made Ascend™ the obvious choice." John Walters, ASIX Vice President of Sales & Marketing added, "We could not be more pleased to add Clark County to our growing list of Ascend customers. We have been enormously impressed with the professionalism and thoroughness of the Clark County staff, and look forward to another successful implementation of our product. I doubt that the Ascend User Group will have much difficulty in deciding which County should host the next meeting!"
