Pierce County, Washington, selects Ascend™

Bellevue, WA - ASIX, Inc., a Northwest-based software vendor and information technology consulting firm, has announced that Pierce County, Washington, has contracted with ASIX to implement Ascend™. The project will also incorporate the installation of Colorado CustomWare’s CAMA system, RealWare, which will be responsible for real property appraisal for the County Assessment office. The new technology will provide more efficient delivery of critical land records services and assist the County in providing more customer-focused interaction between citizens, businesses, and local government.

“We are extremely pleased to have this implementation contract in place and to begin the process of integrating Ascend™ and RealWare into our business processes,” stated Terry Hale, Director of Information Technology at Pierce County. “Selecting the vendors was the easy part as both ASIX and CCI have excellent products, and with Ascend™ being successfully utilized by 7 other Washington counties we are confident that our business requirements will be met. Engaging ASIX as Prime Contractor responsible for ensuring the project will be successful was a key, and we look forward to going live in 2003.”

John Walters, ASIX Vice President of Sales & Marketing added, “Pierce County is an important addition to our growing list of Ascend™ customers. Pierce County will be one of our larger clients and we believe they will be an important contributor to the Ascend User Group and the continual improvement of our product offerings. We have been enormously impressed with the professionalism and thoroughness of the Pierce County staff, and look forward to another successful implementation of our product.”

Pierce County is the 2nd largest county in Washington, and will be annually processing over 325,000 property accounts through the system. Pierce County joins the Ascend™ community that includes Yakima, Snohomish, Thurston, Lewis, Benton, Klickitat and Spokane counties in Washington State, as well as 8 other counties in 5 states.
