Investments
The Ascend Investment tracking module records investment requests, as well
as the purchase, sale, discounts, premiums, and maturation of investments,
and then transparently journals all appropriate financial accounts. Investment
earnings are automatically calculated using user-defined methods like 30/360,
actual/360, and actual/actual. The earnings can then be prorated to multiple
investing funds, based on average daily balance invested in pooled or non-pooled
portfolios. The system allows for the recording of the market value if different
than the book value of the investment.
There are numerous reports to use in the tracking of investment and fund involved
in both pooled and non-pooled investments. Examples include: portfolio by fund,
investment confirmation letter and a report that shows the daily listing of the
financial transaction created for recording the purchases and sales of the investments.
